The GJS standard

Planned for the site. Tested before handover.

Switching the power on is only one step. Circuits still need testing, labels need checking and the handover documents must match the installation.

Solar and backup

Solar that protects the month-end bill and keeps the essentials running.

Cape Town homes and businesses are dealing with rising electricity costs and the risk of power interruptions. A small backup system can keep essentials running from around R50,000, while larger solar and battery systems can move a property much closer to energy independence.

A typical 8 kWh backup and solar-ready system around R160,000 can make sense for a property spending about R1,800 a month on electricity, with a rough payback window of 7 to 8 years if the system offsets most of that bill. Larger off-grid systems can move beyond R200,000, depending on battery capacity, roof layout and the circuits that need to stay on.

How GJS works

Plan the cable routes. Coordinate the trades. Test before handover.

School upgrades, solar installations and housing developments all have different site pressures. The sequence changes, but testing, labelling and accountable handover do not.

GeyserGeckoApproved installer

GeyserGecko solar water heating

Put daytime solar to work on the geyser you already own.

Water heating is one of the biggest electrical loads in many homes. GeyserGecko works with your existing geyser element, so the geyser does not need to be replaced. It uses solar power when available and switches back to grid when needed.

01

Three operating modes

Choose hybrid solar and grid support, PV-only solar operation, or standard AC operation when needed.

02

App control and timers

Set heating times and monitor geyser performance from the mobile app around the household's hot-water routine.

03

Installed as a complete package

GJS checks the geyser, roof, structure and cable route before installing the panels, controls and electrical connections.
